THE ULTIMATE LUXURY BEAUTY GIFT GUIDE

If there’s ever an appropriate time to gift generously, Christmas would be it. Although there’s seemingly an endless list of gifts to buy, with careful budgeting and planning, everyone can be spoiled equally! You only need some great gift ideas.

I’ve rounded up some of my favourite luxury splurges for a quick guide of what’s available this season. Some in gorgeous holiday packaging like the Clé de Peau La Crème!

Chanel No 5 – This year the iconic No5 celebrates a 100 years! If you love the packaging of the limited edition Holiday No 5 bottle, you’ll also love that it’s recycled glass. Happy to see high end brands like Chanel adopt a more sustainable approach.

YSL Couture Clutch (Holiday 2021)– Has been my go-to palette this season. I’ve used it non stop. The packaging is just stunning with a foiled gold overlay that screams Christmas. For me it’s the shimmers in here, they are ultra fine and perfect one-and-done shades for a subtle sparkly lid. There’s also a good mix of deeper tones for adding dimension. Available at all YSL beauty counters.

111 Celestial Black Diamond Neck & Décolletage Serum – It’s my Christmas gift to myself this year & also a great gift idea for mom! Essential for nourishing the delicate skin of the neck & décolletage and encouraging cell regeneration. Available via Net-a-Porter.

Byredo Metal Boots in the Snow eyeshadow palette – … it’s the perfect dinner conversation starter! Ideal gift for that beauty junkie friend. Also ticking the box of luxury but not forgetting the sculptural packaging that looks so cool. Linking it here.

Byredo Mad Red Lipstick – I really can’t get enough of Byredo packaging. This red lipstick will be a sleek addition to any recipients makeup bag.

111 Precious Liquid Masking Edit – this luxurious kit comes packaged in a chic woven pouch. Inside you have three (75ml) face masks. For Healing, Hydration and Energizing. Available via 111 website .

Givenchy Prisme Libre Highlighter – Possibly the best holiday highlighter to launch this year. Surprisingly, very few luxury brands offered highlighters for Holiday 2021. This year Givenchy was my favourite. Beautiful packaging, flattering customisable colour in a makeup bag friendly size.

Clé de Peau Beauté La Crème – Hands down the most gorgeous holiday packaging this year. If you love novelty items that’s limited edition, this would be the BEST you could gift mom & yourself (if your budget allows).

Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick – A luxe gift in gorgeous packaging. Westman Atelier did a whole range of gift sets in gold packaging that’s ready for gifting. No wrapping required. Have you seen the brush collection? Available via Net-a-Porter here.

Jo Malone Wood, Sage & Sea salt – One of the most interesting Unisex perfumes i’ve tried. I love this years LE Holiday packaging. A great gift for a husband, brother, or a sister!

Angela Caglia Gold Cryo Facial Set – Is for the girlfriend you know could use a little pampering. Beauty gadgets can be a simple treat to indulge and relax after a long day and this set of ergonomically crafted rollers will depuff and firm skin. Keep it in the fridge for an even more invigorating treatment. Linking it here.

Chanel Sublimage Mask – Perfect for mature or dehydrated skin, or skin that’s lack lustre, Sublimage combines the very best of actives (Madagascan Vanilla Planifolia) known for it’s anti-ageing properties. Not only does it feel velvety and luxurious, the Sublimage range smells divine!

Hèrmes Les Mains Collection – Of all the exciting beauty releases this year, Hèrmes steals the show with their new nail colours and hand care collection. I was lucky enough to receive a selection of the gorgeous new launch and fell in love with the brands iconic shades. Rouge H, Orange Boite make the most perfect gifts for the H lover in your life. Their cuticle oil is one of the best luxury oils i’ve tried. As is the hand cream.

Chanel Body Oil – Is hands down one of the best gifts i’ve received in recent years. This 250ml bottle practically lasts forever & will be cherished everyday. Comes in three versions; Jasmine, Rose and Vanilla.

Dior Holiday 2021 Nailpolish – You know a brand repeats it’s products when it’s a winner. Each year Dior does this cute bauble shaped nail polish in three festive colours (I feel like every year the colours are the same too). These make the best luxe stocking stuffers for your girlfriends and also a special treat for anyone who loves nailpolish.

Oribe Haircare sets – Are a common feature in each years gift guide. Already packaged ready for gifting, it’s for that girlfriend who has everything, or a really wonderful boss? Available via Beautylish & Net-a-Porter.

Luxury Holiday Gift Guide 2019

For me Christmas is all about spoiling the loved ones. Nothing excites me more than discovering that perfect gift for a friend or family member that I KNOW will bring a smile to their face.

Personally I believe there are no ‘terrible gift givers’, just lazy ones and some who just don’t have the time to be out shopping. Whatever reason for being behind on checking off that gift list (me included this year), i’ve rounded up a few luxurious gifts that are sure to be enjoyed.

Holiday gift guide luxury

As you might have guessed, there’s a theme for todays gift guide. All things golden and shiny! Who doesn’t love a little extra sparkle during the holidays right? Gold packaging has this magical ability to instantly transform the most simple everyday things into something decadent!

1. Louboutin Beauty Metallic Eye Colour

Finally Louboutin Beauty has made its way to Singapore this year and now easily accessible. My very first Louboutin Beauty product was a lipstick from a few years ago and I remember being smitten. When I finally got to see everything in real life I found the eyeshadows to be just as Ah-mazing, if not better! There isn’t a huge shade range but the colours are beautiful and are super long wearing (read budge-proof).

I chose two shades, Morganite (shimmering pink) and Black Sapphire

2. Chantecaille Eclat Brilliant Highlighter

is total packaging goals! But of course Chantecaille do in-fact make fantastic highlighters. This years holiday collection featured a gorgeous true gold highlight Eclat Brilliant, just perfect for the festivities coming up! The texture is ultra silky and applies without looking powdery. I find the quality excellent!

P.S- While you are browsing, do check out the three limited edition Lip Cristals for some extra shimmer this holiday season. The packaging is gold of course with a chic, almost jewelled bullet that is a pearl pigment formula.

ALSO for each lipstick purchased Chantecaille continues with the 1 lipstick = 1 tree campaign, where they pledge to plant one tree in Kenya for each lipstick sold! It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

More swatches here.

3. Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow Holiday Trio

If it’s gifting glitter, Hourglass is the way to go! I’m a sucker for adding some extra shimmer to my holiday makeup looks and nothing quite does it for me like these. They can be applied with fingers and add the most brilliant sparkle to the lids. This year (again) Hourglass have released a gorgeous limited edition holiday trio . The pots are slightly smaller than the regular size but just perfect to dip a finger in to grab some iridescent sparkle!

4. Byredo Perfume Sampler Set

Personally I dont gift perfume unless it’s for my girlfriends or family. It can be tricky picking something without knowing their preferences and generally fragrance is a very personal thing.

However I make an exception for mini/trial sized perfume sets, I think it’s a great way to try a brand and also ideal for gifting. Byredo, one of THE most luxe fragrance houses out there does a sampler kit called La Selection. There’re several fragrance groups to pick from. If you know what the recipient normally favours, why not let them try something new! I have been loving my La Tulip Roll On for quite some time now, the smaller handy size makes it great for keeping in my makeup bag and travels so well! Most of all why I love Byredo is the fragrances are so unique and special, they make the most lovely gifts.

5. YSL Sequin Crush Eyeshadow.

YSL Sequin Crush Eyeshadow

What’s the point of Christmas if you don’t get to throw on some extra glitter…right? ,I guess I just successfully justified another glitter shadow as a gift idea 😉

Have you seen YSL’s new(ish) Sequin Crush Eyeshadow . I spotted a gold and a silver and couldn’t resist picking them up! Packaging is A+, and so is the glitter inside! It’s pigment galore with these. The overall effect is a high sheen foiled look rather than outright glitter. Count me obsessed!

6. CHANEL Gabrielle Shower Gel

Luxury shower gels are a total splurge and make the best gifts. I know I love receiving them.

CHANEL Gabrielle is for the floral lover. A mix of Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom with a hint of Tuberose. This comes in a decent 200ml bottle that’ll look perfect in anyones shower.

For other delectable gift worthy shower gels, check out Aerins selection. I love the Tuberose Body Wash and the Body Cream. A must have if you love white flower fragrances. This one’s extra decadent with it’s silky, creamy formula!

7. Chanel Sublimage Gel-to-Oil Cleanser

Skincare is always a welcome gift in my books, and one of the most luxurious additions to my shelf is the newly launched Sublimage Gel-to-Oil Cleanser. It’s a major love for me. Review here!

Cleansers are pretty much fool proof, so I like to make it extra luxe so it’s truly special. A very lucky someone deserves to have one slipped in their stocking.

8. Silke London Hair Wrap

Something extra luxurious and a truly unique gift is a silk hair wrap by Silke. It protects your hair from tangling and eliminates frizz therefore minimizing hair damage while you sleep.

Also great for keeping the hair away from the face when you get ready in the morning. Order via Net-a-Porter! They deliver within 2-3 days, definitely making it in time for Christmas.

9. COVETEUR Coffee Table book

Gifting Coffee Table books will never go out of style. One of my favourite books to date is Coveteur. Be it flipping pages taking in the drool worthy editorial photography or reading about celebs wardrobes dripping in couture. This one’s for the girl who enjoys the finer things in life. Plenty of inspo in here.

10. A Spa voucher

If you made it at least halfway through holiday shopping by now, you KNOW how hard the holidays can be! Every friend deserves a little pampering and some me time especially after Christmas. Be it a new mom, a corporate rockstar or even Mommy dearest who deserves a little me time of her own. It’s honestly one of the easiest ways to make someone happy! I’m all for gifting experiences, it’s less stress on our planet and eliminates any need for unnecessary packaging. Do you think of zero waste gifting ideas too?

That wraps up todays guide. I’m working on a few more linked guides before the weekend since it’s the very last weekend before Christmas! I hope you manage to pick up the perfect presents for your loved ones before it’s too late. ❤ Happy Shopping!

The art of stocking stuffing

If you are like me and start off real early buying Christmas gifts and then are scrambling around mere days before ‘the day’ looking for stocking stuffers, this post is for you!

Here’s a little guide,

a. Stocking stuffers should ideally be exactly what they sound like – small enough to go into a stocking!

b. No need to go all extravagant (unless that’s your thing of course!) as they are just the little extras.

*Talking bout extravagant stocking stuffers I heard that there is stocking stuffer sized YSL Youth liberator serum that had come out specially for Christmas! Lmfao

c. The more the merrier! Don’t skimp, it’s the holidays! I personally love receiving a tonne of little gifts!

d. Try to take advantage of sales and other year end deals that most stores offer. Since you’ll be buying so many gifts, overall you do save a substantial sum if you shop smart.

Now on to a few stocking stuffers I managed to get my hands on, mostly from the Sephora 20% sale in Singapore.

Stila- Colour me Glossy lip glaze set

stila stocking stuffer idea

This Stila lip gloss set was made for stocking stuffing, it contains three individually packed gloss sets. There’s even a label to write recipient names! Now that’s smart marketing.

Shu Uemura S Curler, Lip & Cheek Fun-tasy

shu uemura lash culer cheek tint

Adore this cute lash curler and lip/cheek tint from the Shu Uemura 6 Heart Princess holiday release, it’s a fun little addition to any gift pile. And it’s always a plus when the packaging is cute, or even better, Christmassy! This collections packaging is decorated with a Christmas tree of hearts!

Benefit Double the Real mascara duo set

benefit they're real mascara

I always feel that gifts such as lipsticks can be tricky if you don’t really know a persons taste in makeup, but things like mascaras you really cant go wrong with, they only come in a very few shades and everyone is usually happy with black!

This set is extra special cos it comes with a mini mascara too, and it’s free! Perfect for anyones makeup bag.

Benefit  Crescent Row Eau de Toilette miniatures set

   benefit perfume miniature

Lastly this very cute perfume set, a Christmas gift sent by the very kind folk at Benefit, I had never seen it before, I believe it’s part of the holiday sets they had come out with this year. But it’s truly another awesome idea for stocking stuffers! It consists of 4 mini eau de toilette bottles and matching little boxes, the packaging is to die for and let’s not even get started on the names of these perfumes cos they are ridiculously cute! I think ‘Ring my Bella’ is my favourite, and it’s going straight into my makeup bag 😛

So that’s my little list of finds, hope is was of some help and eased your holiday gift shopping trauma at least a bit.

Wishing you a great week ahead,

xx, Michelle.
